RadiSys ranked No.1 media server vendor for fourth consecutive year
RadiSys has announced that its family of Convedia media server products was again named the market leader by two premier research and consulting firms tracking the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) equipment markets.
Infonetics, in their Service Provider VoIP and IMS Equipment and Subscriber update for fourth quarter 2007 and calendar year 2007, reported that RadiSys was the market leader in the IP media server market segment Q407. In a separate study, iLocus in their Carrier VoIP Equipment 4Q07 Update also reported RadiSys as the leading vendor in the independent IP media server market. This is the fourth consecutive year that both Infonetics and iLocus have reported RadiSys as the leader in the growing IP media server market segment.
"RadiSys is pleased with our ongoing and consistent leadership in IP media server products and technology", noted Anthony Ambrose, Vice President and General Manager of Communication Networks at RadiSys. "We are fortunate to have great service provider and enterprise telecommunication customers that continue to make RadiSys their preferred vendor for IP media processing platforms. With ongoing R&D investments in our Convedia media server product family, RadiSys remains committed to delivering even more features and capabilities that will continue to differentiate our product offerings in the market place."
Convedia media servers from RadiSys consolidate a broad range of IP-based audio and video media processing features as a shared resource for any VoIP or IMS communications network. RadiSys media servers enable fixed, mobile and cable service providers deploying IMS and pre-IMS services to reduce service delivery costs, and more rapidly introduce new innovative voice, video, and multimedia services. These products also enable enterprise customers to deliver new productivity-enhancing applications and services on their converged enterprise networks while helping to reduce infrastructure and operating costs. Since pioneering the IP media server market in early 2000, Convedia media servers have been deployed with over 200 customers worldwide, including over 25 of world's top 50 carriers and numerous Fortune 500 customers.
