The judging for European Communications’ CMO of the Year award is complete and the shortlist has been drawn up.

You can now watch videos of the judges discussing the criteria that the nominees were judged against, plus the four CMOs who have made the final shortlist, below.

The winner will be unveiled at a gala dinner next month.

European Communications launched the second annual award in June.

Nominations were gathered during the summer, before the independent judging panel convened in September to draw up a shortlist and decide on a winner.

The judging panel was made up of: Alex Holt, Partner at KPMG; Andrew Davidson, Head Telecoms Marketing at Fujitsu UK & Ireland; Anthony Kendall, Group Strategy Director at Brand Finance; Vincent Rousselet, VP Market Insight and Strategy at Amdocs; Marc Smith, Editor of European Communications; Andy Tiller, VP Corporate Product Marketing at AsiaInfo.

Last year’s winner, Telenor Denmark’s Lars Thomsen, also contributed to the judging process.

Smith said: “We are seeing CMOs across Europe evolve their role and become increasingly vital to an operator's successes, or its failures.

"The quality of candidate in this year's shortlist was high and demonstrates just how dynamic and strategic a modern telecoms CMO needs to be."
