Orange Group CFO and Chief Strategy Officer Ramon Fernandez has said Orange does not expect to keep its stake in BT for very long.
Orange agreed to take a four percent stake in the UK operator as part of the £12.5 billion deal that saw BT acquire EE.
In a video interview with European Communications at Mobile World Congress this week, Fernandez said Orange only expects to keep the stake for "a short while".
He also discussed the importance of Africa and the Middle East to the company and how the market in France is evolving.
“We’re fighting and getting results [in France]… I’m optimistic we’ll have a very good position in a few years time.”
Fernandez added that cost cutting would continue to mitigate pressure on revenues and revealed the central theme of Orange’s new strategy, which is set to be unveiled in a couple of weeks.
