Tech Mahindra and MDS have announced a global strategic partnership, and unveiled UK retailer Dixons Carphone as their first customer.

The two vendors have joined forces to offer what they describe as “a dynamically configurable platform” that takes care of an operator’s entire revenue and customer management infrastructure.

Tech Mahindra brings its telecom systems integration and operations expertise to the partnership, while MDS offers billing and customer experience management services.

The two companies have signed up Dixons Carphone as their first customer.

The UK retailer announced last month that it is launching an MVNO, called iD, on Three UK’s network in May.

Tech Mahindra and MDS said they were aiming to help iD to offer better contract flexibility, greater access to free data roaming and the best value 4G service available in the UK.

Aman Bhachu, UK General Manager, Customer Solutions and Connectivity, at Dixons Carphone, commented: “Working with Tech Mahindra and MDS gives us the opportunity to build exciting new propositions for customers that will be different to what other UK networks currently offer.

“We know that people are looking for greater flexibility and control to run their mobile devices on their terms.”

MDS Chief Executive Mark Edwards said: “Tech Mahindra and MDS will enable Dixons Carphone to fundamentally change the nature of the relationship with its customers through their differentiated propositions.”

Vishaal Gupta, Head – Europe, Communications Group at Tech Mahindra, added: “Our joint capabilities will enable Dixons Carphone to offer customers what they want and address their frustrations with current mobile plans.”
