BT will show a range of new and exclusive TV shows as part of its deal with US cable network AMC.

The UK operator announced in June that AMC would launch a channel on its TV service this month, featuring the UK premiere of Fear the Walking Dead.

Ahead of the launch this Friday, the two companies have outlined a series of other exclusives following deals they have signed with Icon Film Distribution, Lionsgate, Miramax, Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures Television.

A number of films, including Only God Forgives starring Ryan Gosling and Kristin Scott Thomas, will be broadcast alongside drama series Rectify.

Award-winning series Breaking Bad and Mad Men, which have been broadcast on Netflix and the BBC, will also get a full airing.

BT revealed its TV customer base grew by 60,000 to 1.2 million in the three months to June – its best performance for two years.

Delia Bushell, Managing Director of BT TV & BT Sport, said: “BT customers will soon have exclusive access to some of the most anticipated new original series and movies as part of AMC’s launch later this week.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing the most compelling new content from one of the world’s most celebrated TV channels for audiences in the months ahead.”
