Telekom Austria has appointed Elisabetta Castiglioni to build a new enterprise-focused digital business unit.
Castiglioni, who has been a member of the operator’s supervisory board since 2013, joins the executive leadership team.
The Italian spent eight years at Siemens, five as CEO of the company’s global media business and worked for MCI – now Verizon Business – where she was EMEA Director of Product Marketing.
Details about the new digital business unit were scant.
Telekom Austria Group CEO Alejandro Plater said: “We are amongst those who drive digitalisation in our markets.
“Our new international unit led by Elisabetta Castiglioni is the logical next step in taking our digital offering for our customers to a new level.
“I am delighted that with Elisabetta Castiglioni we have won an internationally renowned digitalisation executive with a proven track record of delivering growth in complex and innovative businesses.”
The operator does not break out revenues from enterprise services, which include traditional telephony, networks and video conferencing.
Group sales rose 3.5 percent on an underlying basis to €1 billion in the first quarter, but earnings and profits fell.
The America Movil-controlled business saw a huge turnover of senior staff last year and still only lists Plater and CFO Siegfried Mayrhofer on its management team.
Deutsche Telekom unveiled a digital business unit 18 months ago, promising to develop “highly scalable, platform-based and standardised products”.
