Telekom Austria and telematics firm CEplus have launched six industry-specific telematics products as the operator looks to grow its asset-tracking and fleet management business.
Named Polar, Pilot, Lorry, Thermo, Country and Robusto, the modular, cloud-based solutions provide a range of services for cars, trucks, construction machinery, agricultural and forestry vehicles as well as refrigerated freightways.
Sensors record all relevant parameters such as operating and service times, tank level and consumption, temperature as well as hydraulic and electromechanical data.
For example, Robusto tracks both the location and operating hours of construction vehicles and small construction equipment to optimise usage and prevent theft and misuse via an event-based alert system.
All six solutions are vendor-neutral and can be installed on both old and new vehicle models.
The operator said that installation and maintenance work will be carried out by a “capillary network” of installation companies across Austria.
Bernd Liebscher, Managing Director Telekom Austria’s M2M commented: “In addition to our expertise in the area of communications technologies, we are also contributing our international sales power to make technically complex solutions easily accessible for our customers.”
The deal follows one Telekom Austria made in December with CEplus when it unveiled a new winter maintenance solution that can effectively track and record snow-clearing operations.
Last November, the operator launched an M2M solution for the central management and administration of smart electricity meters.
