Tele2 has signed a strategic partnership agreement with vendor NetComm Wireless to develop M2M solutions for vertical markets.
The two companies said they plan to transform asset management capabilities in areas such as industrial automation, security, smart cities and healthcare.
They added that the deal forms part of a broader collaboration between leading M2M/IoT ecosystem partners to provide end-to-end solutions.
Australia-based Netcomm principally sells fixed and wireless routers that include SDKs. The company said enterprises will be able to troubleshoot, upgrade firmware and rollout new applications via the Tele2 network in real time.
According to NetComm CEO David Stewart, the European wireless M2M/IoT market is experiencing solid growth.
He commented: “We are pleased to partner with Tele2 to satisfy the strong demand that we have seen coming from a wide range of industries across Europe and globally."
The news follows Tele2’s announcement last month that it had won its second major contract in the M2M space, one year after launching its M2M division.
Rami Avidan, Head of Tele2 M2M Global Solutions, commented: "Tele2 set out to build partnerships that make it simple and viable for business customers to deploy M2M/IoT across their entire organisation.
“We look forward to working with NetComm Wireless to deliver the seamless connection, customisation and control capabilities needed to achieve this objective."
